CorreLog Announces Release of Cisco MARS SIEM Integration Adapter for
Multiplatform SIEM Solution
CorreLog provides adapter software and pricing incentive for augmenting
or replacing Cisco's sun-setting MARS technology.
Naples, FL - November 17, 2009 - CorreLog, Inc., a leading provider of
enterprise-class log management and proactive security correlation
software, today announced the general availability of its new Cisco MARS
adapter and price breaks for current Cisco MARS customers. The adapter
will receive Cisco MARS event notifications and convert them into
standard, syslog message format for SIEM and security applications. The
announcement comes in response to recent news that Cisco will freeze
support for its MARS product offering.
The CorreLog Cisco MARS adapter software installs in any existing
CorreLog server site. The adapter gathers detailed Cisco information
via Syslog messages, SNMP traps, and XML incident notifications. This
allows CorreLog to incorporate relevant Cisco MARS security data with
other event information including UNIX and Windows log files -
leveraging the substantial power of CorreLog to aggregate, correlate,
remediate and report on enterprise security.
According to CorreLog VP of Product Management Sean Duval, "We have long
admired Cisco's interoperability and have a deep appreciation for Cisco
MARS capability. We consider Cisco to be a top-echelon player in router
SIEM and security. However, we feel this new CorreLog capability will
significantly enhance the security posture of an enterprise by
permitting MARS data to be correlated with other types of enterprise
messages."
In concert with the release of the Cisco MARS equipment, CorreLog has
announced a discount program for existing Cisco MARS customers. For a
limited time, the new Cisco MARS adapter software will be provided free
to existing Cisco MARS users, with the purchase of any CorreLog system.
CorreLog's discount program will be honored through March 31, 2010 and
will assist existing Cisco MARS customers to smoothly integrate the
CorreLog Enterprise Server with their operations - either augmenting or
replacing their existing Cisco MARS monitoring systems.
"We are seeing that our new Cisco MARS adapter substantially increase
security monitoring when used in conjunction with other types of
monitoring. We are also seeing that, at some sites, CorreLog will
replace most of the functionality of Cisco MARS, simplifying operations,
and permitting Cisco to concentrate on what it does the very best:
manage its own equipment," said Duval.
